When I was going through college, owning a business was the dream. I spent so much time worrying about how to start a business, I didn’t know what to do with it once I had one. I have some rather specialized knowledge, although it is less specialized nowadays. Basically, I’m a technological wizard. I have the ability to program, build personal, And all the rest of it. I wanted to work as a Self-employed personal consultant. Even though I knew that I could make a lot more money in the industry, it seemed worth the sacrifice to be able to set my own hours and be my own boss. Continue reading…

A lot of things about opening a business are difficult, but you never really realize how hard advertising new business is until you try it yourself. Don’t get me wrong – there are several simple techniques for business advertising. The problem is that not all of them work. When I first decided to start a non profit foundation, I’ve to admit that not all of my motives were altruistic. It is true that I wanted to help the less fortunate. Ever since I was very tiny, I have had a keen sense of the injustices inflicted on the poor in the world. My parents were very moral, religious people, and they taught me the virtues of helping the less fortunate. Starting a non profit seemed like a way to live this life long dream, to dedicate my life to others and to making the world a better place.

One of the hardest things for me about seeing my business grow up is keeping up with the changes in consumer research. You see, when you are a small businessman, your gut is often all you need. I never employed a consumer research firm, never tracked consumer responses to my product, never did a consumer market study, and never hired any marketing and branding consultants. I had a good idea, a good brand name, and good people working for me. That was really all I needed.
